The Young Catholic Biblical Fellowship groups pray and study the Bible in order to become more deeply rooted in their Catholic Faith. While intended primarily for young Catholics the program can be done by Catholics of all ages.
What is the Format?
Each gathering begins by the group praying the appropriate hour of the day from the Liturgy of the Hours.
This is followed by an open discussion based on the Scripture, or topic being discussed, from the book that the group is currently studying. The discussion is informal, and it is encouraged that refreshments be served during the discussion. The koinonia leader seeks to keep everyone on topic.
At the close of the each meeting a Catholic apostolate is discussed. This can happen several ways, either by a member of the group having researched what the apostolate, or by inviting someone from the apostolate to come and experience the koinonia and give the short 15 minute presentation–giving the scope of the mission, philosophy and requirements to join in the work of the apostolate.
A reading assignment is given for the group for the next meeting.
Are There Certian Books Approved for use in Koinonia?
